Types of Mediumship
Mediumship consists of various fields or disciplines and phenomona, each with their specific characteristics and skills or specializations of the medium.
Psychic
Mediumship
Psychic comes from the Greek "tis psychis," which means "of the soul."
In this form of mediumship, the medium connects with the soul of the person sitting opposite him or her, known as the recipient. The medium 'reads' the energy of the recipient or of an object that the recipient shows or gives him or her.
By "reading" the energie or soul of the recipient, a medium can see the common thread running through the recipient's life. In this case, specific attention is paid to sequences of events in order to uncover patterns and a common thread, with the aim of providing guidance for the future.
During a sitting, most of the information comes from the medium. Some mediums prefer to ask which areas of life (such as work or personal development) the recipient wishes to explore, while others choose to work without any prior information at all.
Features:
- It specifically concerns the life of the recipient.
- The medium reads the soul and energy of the recipient.
- Psychic mediumship is not fortune telling
The medium uses the common thread in the recipient's life as a basis for revealing patterns and blind spots, thereby providing him or her with insights and tools for the future. - Unlike evidential (see below), there is no contact with guides or loved ones in Spirit.
Other forms of mediumship that can be classified under the same heading:
- Card reading: reading by means of card reading
- Psychometry: reading the energy of an object
- Photo readings: reading the energy of a photo
- Flower readings: reading the energy of a flower chosen by the recipient
- Psychic/Spirit Art: a drawing or painting developed by the influences of the recipient's energy, such as in aura drawing.
Evidential Mediumship
In this form of mediumship, information is obtained through communication with the Spirit World, i.e. with loved ones in Spirit (evidential private sitting) or guides (in spiritual assessment).
evidential is a mental process. The medium's mind converts the medium's perception into an image, feeling, sound, etc., in order to convey clear evidence and messages. No objects, photographs, or other physical reference points are required for this.
Senses of the medium, which are used in both psychic and evidential :
- Clairvoyant: perception of images that are not normally perceptible
- Objective: The medium sees the image outside itself.
- Subjective: The medium sees the image in their mind's eye.
- Clairaudience perception of sounds that are not normally perceptible
- Objective: The medium hears the sounds outside itself.
- Subjective: The medium hears the sounds in their mind
- Clairsentience: perception of feelings that are not normally perceptible
- Claircognizance: perception of knowledge that is not normally perceptible
- Clairgustance perception of flavors that are not normally perceptible
- Objective: The medium effectively tastes the flavor.
- Subjective: The medium tastes the flavor in their mind
- Clairalience perception of odors that are not normally detectable
- Objective: The medium effectively detects the scent.
- Subjective: The medium smells the scent in their mind.
Features:
- Direct communication with the spirit world (the recipient’s loved ones in spirit or guides).
- All communication takes place via the medium
- Loved ones in spirit make themselves known to and through the medium by giving clear and recognizable details about who they are.
- Loved ones in Spirit let us know that they are present in the lives of those they care about, gently accompanying them—without advising them or telling them which choices they should make.
- loved ones in Spirit never predict the future
- Messages or communications are often very specific, detailed, and clearly recognizable.
- Sometimes questions are also answered.
Trance Mediumship
Trance, like evidential , is a mental phenomenon.
In trance, the medium enters a different state of consciousness.
It is not the case that the medium is completely taken over in this situation. Think of it more as the medium being in a very deep meditation, where consciousness is lowered.
In trance mediumship, the medium's voice may sound different and the medium may be able to speak other languages that he or she could not speak before. It depends on the Spirit World f this happens.
Features:
- Direct communication with the Spirit World
- The medium enters a trance (lower level of consciousness) and conveys the messages in this way.
- When a trance medium is at work, you can feel that the energy in the room is different. You feel for example yourself becoming completely relaxed as you observe it.
Spirit portrait artists
A Spirit portrait artist is able to sketch the face of the deceased who is communicating without any prior information about them.
A loved one in Spirit chooses how they appear to the Spirit artist.
It is therefore not standard practice for them to appear as they looked immediately before their passing. It is more common for them to appear as they did in a photograph taken during their physical life.
Healing
Magnetizing / Psychic healing
This form of healing is often used to heal one specific area or zone of the body. The medium directs the energy to perform the healing. This healing is effective but only works for a short period of time.
Spirit healing
From spirit à through spirit à to spirit
In spirit healing, the Spirit World determines Spirit World is healed. The healing comes from the Spirit World, passes through the soul of the medium to the soul of the recipient, and then spreads to the places where it is needed. The medium themselves does not direct anything and therefore has no control over it.
types of mediumship:
- Contact healing
In contact healing, the medium places his or her hands on the recipient's body to transmit the healing energy. - Distant healing
This form of healing is used when, for whatever reason, physical contact is not desired or possible. With this method, the medium heals by building up an energy field and making contact with the Spirit World. - Absent healing
Absent healing, also known as prayer for healing, is the only form of healing that does not require the recipient's consent. It is remote healing in which the recipient is not present in the room. - Trance healing
In this case, as with all forms of trance mediumship, the medium will be in a different state of consciousness and will be completely guided by his or her team of guides.
Physical
Mediumship
In physical mediumship, ectoplasm is formed from the medium and manifests itself in a certain form.
The key difference compared to other forms of mediumship is that with this form, every person—even non-mediums— perceive the Spirit World.
Less than 10 percent of all mediums in the world are physical mediums.
Some forms of phenomena:
- Direct voice:here, the Spirit World manifests Spirit World kind of voice box through which it communicates.
- Transfiguration:the Spirit World literally Spirit World itself in the ectoplasm.
